CASA NANITO

…in the high mountains of Cerrillos…

Ecofinca Nanito

Located in the high mountains of Cerrillos, in Esparza, Puntarenas, our ecological farm is a magical place, immersed in nature and blessed with a unique climate.
Ecofinca Nanito offers the opportunity to live and be part of nature. Everything we do on the farm is consciously created, caution, and care, guided by our personal values. Our farm is sacred ground, and we value that our visitors share this sentiment.

Minimizing environmental impact is at the core of our sustainability principle. Many of the foods consumed on the farm are grown on-site, and those sourced locally are harvested under the same principle of self-sustainability and respectful consumption of nature.
As part of our project, we have inaugurated our first fully equipped cabin, Casa Nanito, designed to enjoy the connection with nature, the absolute tranquility of the forest, and the privilege of experiencing a serene life surrounded by the impressive wildlife that uses our farm as a biological corridor.

Casa Nanito was created with great detail and care, in the noble pursuit of making our guests feel at home, with all the services they require in a totally safe and welcoming space.

EXPERIENCE IN OUR CABIN

Disconnect from the outside world and embrace nature. Venture with friends or loved ones, enjoy a solo mission, walk our trails, visit our garden, collect fresh eggs daily, enjoy the pool, watch the monkeys or deer passing by the house… wake up each morning in a completely parallel world.

Be part of an incomparable immersion in the dry tropical forest and experience a unique connection with nature.

The memories created at ECOFINCA NANITO will last a lifetime.

Nanito, Genaro Gatgens Mora

Nanito

Genaro Gatgens Mora, whom our family affectionately called “Nanito”,  was the son of one of the first inhabitants and founders of the Cerrillos de Esparza community. He was a man of great charisma, simple, hardworking, and humble. A knowledgeable man of the land, with a noble character, he enjoyed reading his World Almanac magazines and listening to the radio.

To his grandchildren, he was “Abuelo Nano,” the grandfather everyone wanted to see, hug, listen to, or simply be with. He lived on our farm during the last years of his life, leaving his mark and teachings to those who shared time with him.

Abuelo Nano conveyed peace, and the people of the town always welcomed him with open arms. For our family, he was an example of the perfect balance of coexistence between humans and nature. Abuelo Nano lived consciously from what the land offered and produced.

Thanks to his unforgettable legacy, our farm proudly bears his name today.
